From Pro Bono Attorneys to college students to seniors, our volunteer base is full of individuals in the community helping to provide equal justice to those in need. In any of our three office locations volunteers support full time staff in many different ways including filing, Spanish interpreting/translations, research, fundraising, community outreach, and other important tasks. Interested in the judicial system and what is like to be a lawyer? RLS provides the opportunity to accompany and observe a real attorney in court!
We have attached our volunteer application here. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the application and deliver it, along with your resume, two references and a writing sample, to one of our three branches. RLS is open year round and accepts volunteer applications at all times. We do ask that our volunteers and interns set up consistent schedules so that we can best leverage the support that we are given by our community.

If you would like further information, email us or call (540) 371-1105 to discuss volunteer or internship opportunities. We thank you for your interest and look forward to hearing from you.
RLS has a very good relationship with the University of Mary Washington. Through this relationship, we have been able to provide students with internship opportunities. Students from a variety of different majors (sociology, pre-law, economics, business, Spanish, etc.) have interned to complete numerous projects to help them gain real world experience related to their field of study. Students looking for internship credits should contact career services about participating in an internship at RLS.
What is it like to volunteer for RLS? Here is what one intern had to say.
